Description
A week prior to accident of the scuffle with , which resulted in Lyubova' s injury and Dyusha's running away, a wedding for a young couple was held in the village church, the ceremony of course, presided and conducted by Father Konstantin.
In their best clothes, as befits attending a wedding, Lyubova and Dyusha observe the entire wedding among the other villagers. It had only been 7 months since Father Konstantin had taken Dyusha in, and the lad was still endeavoring to gain a normal life, or rather learn of and accept what a good life is.
Nearing the end of the wedding, the couple kiss, and Dyusha asks Lyubova what is is that the couple had done-touching each other's lips with their own lips.
Initially, Lyubova is startled-how could anyone not know what a kiss was?
"You mean, you do not know what a kiss is?" She asks astonished.
He sharply retorts, that he told her before he was stupid, and he does not even what that word means.
