Description

В Наших Глазах (In Our Eyes)

Wait! Don’t got away!

We’ve been waiting for summer but the winter came

We entered people’s homes but

it was snowing in there

Everyday we were waiting for tomorrow

We hide our eyes behind the blinds of our eyelids

CHORUS

In our eyes-hey, go ahead!

In our eyes-halt!

In our eyes-the birth of the day

and the death of the fire

In our eyes-starry night

In our eyes-paradise lost

In our eyes-a closed door

Choose what you want

We were thirsty-there was no water

We wanted some light-there was no star

We walked out into the rain and

drank water from puddles

We wanted songs-there were no words

We wanted sleep-there were no dreams

We were mournful-the orchestra

was celebrating victory

A second venture with the charcoal medium- referenced from this screencap captured from this segment of this video.

Hopefully this venture into this medium and employing a more realistic style will favor this piece with you all here.

The vocal delivery in this specific rendition of В Наших Глазах is specially moving and powerful.

Tsoi’s voice, combined with the heavy melancholic tempo and undercurrent of a hidden yet righteous indignation, reverberates in a pure, raw state which is exceptionally breath-taking to hear.

Equally breath-taking to watch is the emotionally-charged performance shot in stark black and white sepia. It stuns the watcher as otherworldly.

This is doubtless the best piece you have ever submitted to this site - let’s just have that said right upfront, because-- hot DAMN this is brilliant!! :wow:

You are making good use of the advantages of charcoal, the way it allows for better shading, better light and dark contrast than pencil would and the dramatic lighting of this piece is truly atmospheric and emotional. Echoes the intensity of the expression and especially the eyes very well - because in this piece it’s really the eyes that take centre stage.

Beautiful! Brilliant! I want to see more!
